Jacob S. Polochak

As a partner at our firm, Attorney Polochak represents landowners in regard to a variety of issues relevant to the Appalachian Basin’s developing oil & gas industry. Particularly, Attorney Polochak’s practice is focused on representing landowners through the leasing process, having assisted thousands of landowners, both individually and through leasing groups. Attorney Polochak has also litigated on behalf of landowners, both in pursuit of claims against gas companies and in regard to title issues.

After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School f Law, Attorney Polochak spent several years at Cipriani & Werner, a regional litigation firm. He also spent time developing experience with Estate Planning and transactional law at the firm of Morella & Associates. In 2009, Attorney Polochak partnered with Attorney Joe Morascyzk, who had been one of the first area attorneys to focus his practice on landowner leasing representation, to form the firm of Morascyzk & Polochak. Since that time, Attorney Polochak has assisted landowners in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, Venango, and Washington Counties, and has worked as co-counsel with attorneys in New York and Ohio on several large leasing group projects.

Attorney Polochak lives in the South Hills with his wife Kristin and their four children. Although a passionate hockey fan, and former player at Canon McMillan High School and the University of Pittsburgh, Attorney Polochak has few interests other than the zealous pursuit of improving oil & gas leasing conditions in Western Pennsylvania and to advocate for landowners as a lawyer at one of the area’s most well recognized oil & gas law firms. To that end, Attorney Polochak travels regularly to present public seminars and landowner group town hall meetings, has taught an oil & gas leasing course through CCAC and has sat on oil & gas panels to assist with educational outreach.
